 Victim Support is a national organisation providing information, support and advocacy services to victims of serious crime and trauma. Working with us would mean being able to make a tangible difference to your community, and to the lives of people who have experience crime or trauma.

 We are now seeking a full time Family Harm Support Worker for our Auckland area working across five days a week including weekend work. 

As a Support Worker, you will provide a front-line service through the ownership and management of support services to victims of crimes and trauma. You will be required to have excellent communication skills and be able to work as a member of a team. Knowledge of/ exposure to family harm cases would be an advantage. Family harm cases would make up a significant portion of your case load.

  • Can you build effective working relationships with key stakeholders, enabling you to provide a quality service to family harm victims and their families?
  • Do you have experience in problem solving and delivering an outstanding service to clients under pressure?
  • Do you have an understanding of working with victims and their families as a result of Family Harm (including Family Violence)?
  • Do you have a full licence and access to transport?
  • Are you available to work weekends as rostered?
  • Are you able to work autonomously and as part of a team, yet also work independently and self-manage?

 You will be required to undergo pre-employment vetting by the NZ Police. Applicants for this position must hold NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
