Salary: $75,476.63 per annum. 

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week with one working day in the weekend

Eligibility:  Applicants for this position must have the legal right to work in NZ, consent to undergo a NZ Police Vetting Process, have a clean drivers license and access to reliable vehicle

About the role | Mō te tūnga  

We are excited to introduce a new split role to the West Coast that combines two key areas of responsibility: Team Leadership and direct Support Work

Based in Greymouth, you’ll divide your time between providing leadership and support to your small local team (currently one support worker) and delivering frontline support directly to our clients in the region.

As a Team Leader, you will:

Build and maintain healthy and productive relationships with local stakeholders as the face of Manaaki Tāngata Victim Support in the West Coast region, from Karamea to Haast

  • Lead and support your team, providing day-to-day direction
  • Debrief and coach the team regularly
  • Oversee case management with a focused client-centred approach

As a Support Worker, you will 

  • Provide emotional support and practical assistance 
  • Support clients to understand their rights and access resources
  • Provide guidance through the justice system, and safety planning of whanau and property
  • Connect with local support services and counselling services where needed

  • Thrives under pressure and has strong problem-solving and organisational skills
  • Team player who can also work independently
  • Has a full clean driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Coaching skills and experience will be an advantage
